Privacy policy
This policy explains what YTDown processes when you use the downloader. We aim to keep data collection minimal.
What we process
To run downloads and keep the service working, YTDown may process:
- YouTube URLs you submit (to fetch formats and start a download).
- Basic technical data such as IP address for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
- Temporary output files created during conversion (deleted automatically after a short time).
How we use it
We use this information only to:
- Provide video/audio conversion and download features you request.
- Protect the service from overload and misuse.
- Improve reliability and fix errors.
Storage and retention
Downloaded files are stored temporarily on the server and are removed automatically after a short retention window. We do not build personal profiles from your download history.
Cookies and local storage
YTDown may store a language preference cookie and use browser local storage for theme (light/dark). These are for convenience only and are not used for advertising.
Third parties
When you paste a YouTube link, the server may contact YouTube (or related CDNs) to read available formats. Your hosting provider and CDN (if any) may also see standard server logs. We do not sell your personal information.
